In a remote village in Peten, Guatemala, the families have been drinking water from a small creek several miles away. This is the same creek they bathe, wash clothes and livestock wades. They suffered from parasites and amoebae causing dysentery and in some cases death of small children. Every home now has a water catchment and bio-sand water filter that provides clean, safe drinking and cooking water.
