SALSA GARDEN

The boys at the orphanage germinated the salsa garden seeds in egg flats two weeks ago so we could put them in the deep water culture area this week. I was very happy to see they have already used the water bottles from the trash as net pots to put the seedlings in. Now there are about 100 or so seedlings of tomatoes, peppers, onions and cilantro that they will continue to put in the floating rafts. They will check the rafts each week to see when the root systems of the plants are at least 4 inches long in the water before moving them into the gravel beds to continue growing and producing fruit. Our moringa trees are really doing great! They have pruned them once and already many of them are 8-10 feet tall!
